ABOUT NWKX
NWKX (North West Kent Xperience) is a new project borne out of previous attempts at operating a radio service for the so-called ‘Thames Gateway’ area of North West Kent & South East London.
We are a music-intensive radio service, daytime we feature Music to reflect the area’s musical heritage, Indie, Soul, and Dance classics with some newer artists. Evenings we are more cutting edge, featuring new artists and bands, that you may see and hear, at the many venues across the area.
An area rich in its musical diversity – from Alternative Rock, Soul, Urban, to Classical, and all the way back again to emerging and classic Indie and Dance – perhaps most famously where the Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were from, in Dartford.
There are also a number of famous musical venues, such as the Mick Jagger Centre, Amersham Arms, Leo’s The Red Lion, The Woodville, and The Forum in Tunbridge Wells, where numerous new artists and bands have played one of their first gigs and events.
One of our key objectives is to help North West Kent’s engagement with the music community – artists, bands, and other creative talent. We also aim to support and provide promotion and exposure to these and other local businesses.
The station is supported by Swanley Computers and managed by Nathan King, a supporter of the original Xfm in 1992, Co-Founder of St. Andrew’s Radio (London), and Founder of London Chest Radio (Barts Hospital Radio), and Keeping It Peel. He was also part of the launch team for Miskin Radio. Nathan has been championing new artists and bands his entire career, setting up St. Andrew’s Radio, in 1990.
Thanks for visiting this site, and supporting our aims, although please bear in mind that this Project and Website, are a work-in-progress – so please bear with us!
